HOW TO ENROLL IN THE BROWARD FIRE ACADEMY
- Register to take the Academy Entrance Ability (this can be done while you are enrolled in EMT)
- Complete the Physicians Statement and Hold Harmless Agreement
- Take and pass the Academy Entrance Ability
- Complete and print the Broward Fire Academy, Fire Application packet online at the FIRE FIGHTER tab on this web site. Please note: The Fire Application packet is date sensitive and MUST be completed just prior to entering the Broward Fire Academy, Fire Fighter I & II program.
- Complete the EMT program (EMT program certificate is required for the Fire Application packet)
- Complete financial aid if applicable
- Email Art Bousquet at arthur.bousquet@browardschools.com to schedule an appointment to register (all paper work, including financial aid paper work MUST be completed before scheduling this appointment)
- Register for the Fire Fighter I & II program. At this time you will be given the following information:
- Where to purchase your books, uniforms.
- Where to obtain or rental gear/equipment.
- How to schedule your electronic fingerprinting with PearsonVeu.
- How to complete your Florida State Fire College profile.
- How to complete your Student Handbook Acknowledgement form.
- You will be given the dates and times of the MANDATORY FIRE ORIENTATION MEETING (failure to attend will result in automatic withdrawal in the Fire Fighter I & II program).
