DESCRIPTION:
This 40-hour class introduces the rescue professional to the skills and equipment necessary to safely and efficiently resolve situations that require the use of rope and related equipment. This course meets or exceeds the general requirements for NFPA 1670 Standard on Operations and Training for Technical Rescue Incidents, Awareness and Operations Level for Rope Rescue.
This is a physical and mentally demanding program that emphasizes safety, teamwork, and scene management. Those with disabling fear of heights are discouraged from enrolling. Performances of all required practical skills as outlined in NFPA 1006 "Rope Rescue" Awareness and Operations Level are necessary in order to receive a certificate.

Low angle "scree" rescue operations

High angle rescue operations
All equipment is provided (except helmet and gloves) Personal equipment is acceptable if it complies with NFPA - 1983.
This course serves as a prerequisite for Rope Rescue Technician Level and Confined Space Rescue Operations Level.
