DESCRIPTION:
This 40 - hour course is required by the State of Florida for Fire Service Instructors who will be participating in live fire training, and is mandatory for those personnel who may be operation in the capacity of Instructor In Charge (IIC) or Safety Officer (SO) during live fire training evolutions. This course will identify and assist the Live Fire Instructor candidate in understanding the regulations, rules, and requirements of conducting live fire training as identified in NFPA 1402, Guide to Building Fire Service Training Centers, and NFPA 1403, Standard on Live Fire Training Evolutions. Candidates must provide a complete, NFPA certified, personal protective ensemble (bunker gear) and a self-contained breathing apparatus.
