DESCRIPTION:
This comprehensive 40 hour program is designed to train firefighters in the methods and techniques of survival as well a RAPID INTERVENTION TEAM operations. The course consists of hands on practical training in the tower apartment unit, an advanced multi-level maze, and a lightweight construction floor collapse simulation. Firefighters will also train in personal escape procedures, entrapped firefighter extrication and removal, and much more. Classroom material includes information on standards and regulations for Rapid Intervention Teams (RIT), firefighter safety, rescue and extrication operations, accountability, NFPA 1500, case studies and more!
This program has been designed specifically for firefighters of all ages and physical conditions. Our goal is to create a learning environment where all firefighters can enjoy and participate in each segment of the program.
Students are required to provide their own set of bunker gear, fire gloves, fire helmets, fire boots, hoods and SCBA with a spare cylinder. Personal equipment must comply with NFPA and ANSI.
